Tech Ion-Array

Ion Arrays are energy weapons working on the principle of focusing and reflecting charged ions. The primary function is that the ions are meant to link with the atoms of the target, changing their polarity and causing them to repel from the target. While this causes minor hull damage it is most effective against shields, essentially shoving the energy of the shields out into space. They are used as a supplement to capital ships primary weapons and are used in large volume for best effectiveness. They have limited range.
