Tech Particle Shield

A ships sublight drive creates a field of highly charged particles. Discoveries of various energy focusing technologies allow this field to be redirected, strengthened and focused by specialized arrays and emitters to create a dense field, though incapable of deflecting the most solid materials, this field provides a solid defense against energy weapons as well as being useful in jamming and other forms of ECM. Properly focused they can mask a ship's presence, or provide helpful interference with enemy targeting systems.
