Tech Fusion Beam

The fusion beam is likely the most powerfull shipborne weapon systems known. Only able to be powered by capital class fusion reactors.

A steady concentrated beam of super charged plasma particles kept in stasis via a strong projected electro-magnetic containment field. The weapons are slow to fire and slow to reach their target and have a long recycling time, due to the length of time it takes to regenerate and refill the Plasma Projector. Despite these flaws the fusion beam is capable of dealing enormous damage, reducing a ship to a melted mass very quickly. The primary defense against this weapon is the particle shield, which can disperse the plasma particles.
