Born 776 AE into the Andromedeus family as the only son of Lucan II and heir to Antarean Empire's throne. Trained in the ways of rule since birth Lucan III is often considered one of the most important emperors in history. He was a military genius who personally commanded the AISN. He died, of natural causes, at the fairly young age of 79, in 855 AE, two years before the United Space Navy won the important victory against ASE at the battle of Drydoon. Some historians theorize that if he had lived only a decade more the ASE might very well have won the war.
