The Falken 5-Plasma Handgun (5PH) is a compact directed energy weapon that operates similarly to the Corps-Miyaki DK31. It is still in its experimental stages, primarily to get around the obscene amount of heat that is put off by the weapon and the energy draw that it has. It can be used as a short range plasma shotgun by expelling all 5 packets in one go by pre-loading all packets at once by depressing the trigger, or it can fire them individually and function like a shorter range laser-induced plasma channel (LIPC) weapon with quick taps. Given the way that the plasma blooms without a sustained ionized path, its projectile is described like a small conical electrical explosion mixed with a hot flame. The current prototypes are forced to use an external power source.

It is intended for use in boarding parties for its reduced likelihood of puncturing the hull and its capabilities against soft targets, and may in the future be mounted as an underbarrel attachment.
