The now called Wolverine full-auto submachine gun was once the fas180 by Taldis, but few remember that designation. It is now called simply the wolverine, after the pirate infested star cluster. it is one of the favorite hand weapons among pirates, thus its naming, since it holds many bullets and fires even more.
Although designed and originally manufactured by Taldis, it was quickly dropped after it was revealed that Taldis was purposefully trading it with pirates, and not just for money. After that incident the pirates took it upon themselves to manufacture it, having bought or otherwise bartered the blueprints off Taldis. Of course now calling it the wolverine with great pride.
For a young company like Taldis, many predicted this scandal would be the end of the enterprise, and politically it was. But financially Taldis quickly grew, people had seen the effectiveness of Taldis weaponry and rushed to buy. Already gotten rid of any ideals, Taldis made a smart move with a new line of simple civilian small arms, even though it was no longer even making the Wolverine smg's.
