The SAR (Squad Automatic Rifle) is Taldis' foray into the fire support market for private military corporations and military contracting. It features a fully electronic trigger mechanism instead of mechanical, thus failing when hit by EMP, but having much better fire timing. One of the variants, the SAR-C Mod 0, has a sort of 'cruise control' option that will fire from the first trigger tap until the trigger is tapped again.

The rounds themselves generate a high amount of heat, so the weapon is typically built with a limiter that only allows for 3 round bursts or semi-automatic fire to reduce wear and tear on the barrel and firing mechanism and prolong the lifespan of the weapon.

Among PMCs and regular troops, the SAR is affectionately known as 'the brick', for its overall shape and how hard it hits.

The magazine is unique in that it operates with shelved ammunition to save on space and bulkiness, similar to Taldis' FAS180 Custom, otherwise known as the Wolverine.
