AE
"Anno Exodi", or "Year of the Exodus", colloquially referred to as "After Exodus", this suffix is used to mark any year after 2491 AD, signifying the the beginning of human expansion into surrounding star-systems using faster-than light travel. It is the primary method of measuring time among the Exodus worlds. The term AE has, however, been supplemented in Antarean space. First by PA (Pax Antarea), then, for a short time, by ASC (Antarean Standard Cycles). PA has returned to being the method of marking years within the 2nd Antarean Star Empire.
PA
The first term to supplement AE in Antarean space was inaugurated upon the formation of the First Antarean Star Empire. The term to replace AE was PA, standing for Pax Antarea. This change began in 582 AE. The use of PA was stopped temporarily in 885 AE, and then was continued in 980 AE.
ASC
For a short time (885-980 AE) PA was replaced by ASC, standing for Antarean Standard Cycles. The Second Antarean Federation replaced PA with ASC, in order to show their Independence and the fact that they had thrown off the Empire. It also was a power move to help get the AF into the ULP.
