The Ti is the workhorse of the Antarean fleet appearing in greater numbers than the Anat and often taking the fleet-screening role usually assigned to the Min class. First introduced during the Antarean Federation's one-year war with the United League of Planets and subsequently received a partial overhaul as a part of the new Empire's re-armament circa 985AE. The success of the Ti is something of an anathema as it does not excel in any of the areas traditional to ships of its class. It is relatively under-armed, possessing a pair of plasma cannons backed by a serviceable array of light weapons. Its armor and shield coverage are barely equal to the Griphon, its USN counterpart, and its small munitions bays give its primary weapons a very short combat lifespan. Nonetheless, the Ti has served admirably in its capacity as a multi-purpose escort due in no small part to its versatility as well as the boldness of its crews.

In this respect, the Ti has proved that a ship is a sum of its parts, as both Federation and Imperial corvette crews have routinely made excellent use of the ship's rugged handling and impressive survivability to deliver point-blank assaults on significantly larger capital ships. In regards to its duties as a light escort, it has seen similar success hunting down enemy fighters and destroyers. in particular, Ti's are often detached as light raiders, or to provide security for Imperial supply convoys. Their relatively cheap manufacturing and operating costs coupled with their small crews make them popular among House forces as well.

Due to its slim profile and ability to make planetfall, many variants of the corvette have been produced for more mundane roles. These versions range from intra-system security to armored transport for the Empire's ruling elite (something especially sought after during times of war). Stripped down versions have even made their way onto the civilian commercial market, as the Ti-J model has been released with a significantly downgraded array of weapons and sensor equipment but an expanded cargo bay, effectively turning the warship into a well-armored tramp-freighter. The design has gotten so popular that the vessel has seen penetration into foreign markets in the Solesian Hegemony, and even some parts of the neutral territories within League space.
