The GAD is a multiple flechette cartridge that typically is loaded with 7 flechettes (although modifications of the cartridge do exist that cram more flechettes inside) for use with the ASG-10. Is designed to deal devastating damage up close at the cost of range, as the flechettes are not fin-stabilized and are meant to spread out over distance. Chokes on the shotguns that utilize them can improve range by extending the barrel.
The development for this ammunition was out sourced by Corps-Miyaki to Aeger for its complicated design while retaining high reliability for extraction.
