The EVR is Avex's answer to the P6i assault rifle from Salier. In their attempts to break into the atmospheric weaponry market they leveraged their considerable experience with Magnetic accelerators to create a range of Magnetic weapons. Known as Railguns of Gauss Rifles the EVR is the latest attempt to steal Saliers crown. While the EVR has incredibly low recoil for a rifle of its capabilities Avex still haven't managed to stop the overheating problems inherent in their designs.

It can fire around 21 rounds in full auto mode before being forced into Cool-Off mode which cracks the barrel open and exposes the magnetic rails to the atmosphere to speed up heat dissipation. This makes the weapon useless for several seconds before it can be fired again.

The EVR is not a subtle weapon either. Avex still hasn't found a way to silence the considerable noise it makes while firing and in addition to this there is a distinctly audible whine immediately before the weapon is fired as the capacitors charge up.

Normally EVR uses standard 8mm UB class ammunition but in addition is also capable of using the more specialist UP round (Plasma) and UI round (Ion Disruptor).

The sheer expense and difficulty of maintenance has restricted the EVR's use to privileged personnel and heavy shock troops in the AIA. While the EVR is certainly a superior anti-infantry weapon under the right conditions than the P6i, the P6i's versatility and low cost keeps it in the hands of most of the AIA's forces.
