Gauss rifle, using magnetic acceleration through an explosive magnetic coil like a classic EMP device (also called explosively pumped, flux compression generator), this technique enhances efficiency several hundred times. Since it uses a coil per shot, and the coils are in the barrel, the entire barrel needs to be replaced per shot. Avex has made it so that the projectiles themselves are in the barrel replacement. Nevertheless this makes the reloading extremely slow and expensive but this gun is still loved by many for its immense stopping power and versatility.
Since you replace the barrel per clip, it's possible to have incredible choice in caliber sizes. practically anything from only 5mm to 25mm projectiles work as long as they're made from a magnetizable material with a same sized barrel. But although the hardware can theoretically fire a 25mm round, the recoil would destroy the weapon, and likely the one firing it as well.
