Almost all railgun technologies have been directly or indirectly been developed by Falken, the magnetic pioneers of the manufacturing world.

The United League, more specifically, the Star Kingdom of Mournecreek invested incredible amounts to make a land and infantry feasible railgun. Although succesful, investors have not been happy with the staggeringly high cost of the RID project. Falken was able to recoup its expenses by producing a civilian weapon using downscaled technology used in the RID's development.
