Slipgates are inter-system stations that facilitate the moving of ships about a wide area. The first ring in a slipgate series charges a ships hull positively then each successive gate can generate a large electro-magnetic force, alternatively pushing and pulling the ship forward at high speeds. Safe and reliable they are the mass transit system of local space. Two things should be kept in mind:
1. If an enemy can successfully fire upon a ship, it's hull will loose charge, causing it to drop out of the gate network, until it reaches the next gate.
2. Though there are only two recorded incidents, should the gate computers get confused, broken or hacked it is possible to damage large ships and completely destroy 1- 2 man craft. If a small positively charged ship is between two negatively charged gates it can literally be ripped apart by magnetic forces.
