the 2nd district was just that. the 2nd wholly seperate area of space to be claimed as a union of worlds - a `Stellar Nation <Nations.html>`_
the bright star Antares was amongst the first to be shaped to humankind's needs, and man flourished in this hot, bright area of space.
Soon the sons of antares grew strong and resented the yoke of the Home Worlds. they threw off their ties and rebelled in what became known as the `First Antarean War <First_Antarean_War.html>`_
although in present times the 2nd district has become little but a warzone at its edges, the Antarean empire has brought solidarity and pride to the tightly bunched core of frontier worlds, and forged a new empire from the ashes of the old.
