The &amp;quot;PlasCannon&amp;quot; is classified as a kinetic-energy hybrid, due to the fact that it is equivalent to a large bore rifle. Plasma Cannons work on the Plasma Packet Principle (PPP). In this case, high level plasma generators (or in extreme cases plasma taken directly from the engine, a dangerous maneuver that steals power from essential ship systems) eject negatively charged plasma globules into a negatively charged magnetic pocket (thus insuring that no plasma comes into contact with the mechanism) and is used as a projectile. Negative Electro-Magnetic capacitors eject the magnetic pocket at high speeds. Upon impact the packet bursts, releasing the charged plasma onto/into the ship. (Note: The most famous and difficult maneuver is to aim the PlasCannon directly at the engine vents of the enemy ship, releasing plasma into the engine core, causing overload.) However, as range increases the Plasma will cool and shrink, loosing potency. The PPP Projectiles released by the PlasCannon are medium sized, often fired from turrets and shares some design aspects with the rail gun.&lt;br /&gt;
