All Antarean officers are obligated by law to carry at all times a ceremonial blade called a fireblade. This normally not meant for combat, although it has been used as such if the situation was dire.

The same type of blade is used with so called "gentleman's duals", where are the name suggests they are used in a ceremonial, or real, dual.

		+	The fireblade has been the national Antarean symbol since its creation. called so not because its on fire, but because it can fire. Now only a ceremonial function, or sometimes still used in honor fights, the technologie behind it has long been outdated as a weapon.

		+	It is said Antares was forged in the fires of the blade; in a very litteral sense. All high AIA officers still carry a fireblade as a reminder of that fact.
