The GU-34 is a gauss rifle (a type of coilgun) that uses ingenious scaled-down mechanisms borrowed from Falken's destructive tool, the RID. The projectile is a tungsten-core coil-induced-round (CIR) that is launched into the barrel via a small electric hammer aft of the barrel assembly. Given that there is no rifling in the barrel itself, it generates spin by tiny fins that deploy after leaving the barrel. The barrel uses perfectly-timed magnetic forces to accelerate the round over the length of the barrel to a blistering 1500 meters per second, over four times the speed of sound as it leaves the barrel. The electrical discharge from the coils leaves hot gases in its wake and generates a bright flash of excited plasma. With recent advancements in CNT capacitors, the prototype GU-34 is capable of a two-round burst, but at the cost of velocity and stopping power as a tradeoff for putting more rounds down range.

Due to the nature of how the device charges, it is recommended to fire in single, controlled shots instead of fully depressing the trigger to maximize velocity and damage on hit at greater ranges. The weapon fires at approximately 300 rpm while firing a full burst.

The housing for the capacitors gets extremely hot with repeated firing and the weapon has external heatsinks on both sides of the capacitor's housing. For operator safety, it is recommended to hold the weapon by the designated location forward of the magazine which also serves as a lever to lock the magazine in place.

The commercially produced version does not feature the two-round burst select-fire option and is generally expensive to operate, given the proprietary rounds, tools, and components exclusively manufactured by Falken; however, this doesn't serve to stop the enthusiast marksman from procuring and hoarding parts.

The U-Class of ammunition is developed solely by Avex for use in their Magnetic acceleration weapons.
Due to the lack of any propellant requirements U-class rounds take up even less space than caseless chemical charges. This allows an EVR magazine to store far more shots than its contemporaries.

UB round - Solid-state slug of a unique alloy. Cheap to manufacture as it is essentially nothing more than a lump of shaped metal.
Avex weapons are all based around Magnetic Acceleration. The benefits over more conventional weaponry that requires a chemical propellant is that Avex weapons have a far lower recoil and rate of fire. However the caliber of their ammunition is deliberately misleading.

The Advanced U-class ammunition comes in both 8mm and 6mm flavors. These calibers were intended to effectively re-brand their ammunition to make it more appealing than Salier's 7.4mm rounds. The 8mm is actually only an indication of it's equivalent stopping power rather than it's physical size. The nature of magnetic acceleration means the slug leaves the weapon at a far higher muzzle velocity than a traditional propellant based round. This increased speed is directly responsible for the over sized stopping power of the physically smaller round. The benefits of the smaller physical size and lack of requirement for propellant means more rounds can be packed into a single magazine than traditional ammunition.

Just as with a regular assault rifle though accuracy and range is determined by the length of the barrel. Although Avex weapons traditionally make up for lack of rifled barrels and other more traditional methods of improving accuracy by pure brute force.

UI round - Accelerated Ion packet

UP round - Gases suspended in a frozen "charge" that is superheated into a plasma state before firing.
Soldiers have lamented the lack of a quality armour piercing slug for Avex weapons and that while the raw stopping power of a UB 8mm slug is greater than a 7.4mm round modern armoured vests absorb far more of the impact reducing it's overall effectiveness.
In response to this Avex developed the UP round which is actually a concoction of highly volatile gases frozen into a shaped charge.
The more recent Avex weapons have been able to melt and then superheat these slugs into a plasma state before they are fired. The extreme heat of the charge has been known to cause extensive burn damage and even in some cases set a target on fire causing injuries far in excess of the regular solid rounds. The drawback is that the already considerable heat generation of the weapon is increased and a UP clip has a third of its space reserved for cooling mechanisms to keep the frozen slugs in such a state leading to smaller magazine sizes.
This rather ludicrous double-action revolver carries the huge 16mm RF ammunition in a 6-shot cylinder. Its muzzle flip is almost unmanageable in normal hands, and will frequently almost always cause bruising if wielded improperly. It is a favorite amongst pirates and firearms enthusiasts alike. It can be used in a pinch as a pocket sniper of sorts, but the short barrel and design almost ensure that this is not a normal occurrence.

Designed and made during the time of the Antarean federation by a collaboration between three large companies on both sides as a way to make peace between them. Sikfrit and Kaller were responsible for the weapon itself and Aeger for the ammunition. A large amount were made in the first batch and the SM54 is now used on both sides of the conflict.
The ULA's standard issue GAR 8.13x60mm FMJ round. Used by the DK-11A assault rifle and other mainstay ULA weapons. The GAR class is a caseless ammunition, meaning the two-stage quintite propellant (a high energy density material compound engineered by Corps-Miyaki), the primer, and the projectile are all one unit -- primarily for saving space and simplifying firing mechanisms, thereby reducing the weight of weapons that use them. The GAR uses a stable electrical primer and propellant with a very high flashpoint to eliminate worry of misfires and rounds cooking off. The quintite propellant in the FMJ and AP variant burn blue. The round has its own oxidizers and can be fired in any environment without issue. The GAR round's production was refined to a point that it's genuinely less expensive to manufacture than counterparts, superseding most ammunition types in ULP space as a standard.

The GAR is easily the most commonly found round in both the periphery and inner worlds of United League space. It is sometimes said that more GAR rounds have been made than all other ammunition types combined; though, this claim is likely a common misconception. The fact remains that the GAR round has been used extensively, it is said no ULA soldier has ever gone without emptying at least one magazine in a field of operations.

Several variants of the GAR ammunition exist for different purposes
- GAR AP: Overpressured propellant with a longer block and hardened core improve overall damage and penetration properties. Requires heavier barrel. Used with TS20.
- GAR FMJ: Milspec variant of GAR ammunition, the outer shell of the round is hardened, but with a softer core. Less penetration than AP but flattens inside targets to increase soft-tissue damage. Commonly used by DK11A and all variants.
- GAR-T2: Developed for a cancelled LMG variant of the DK-11, the DK-20, this load features a tapered propellant block that allows for higher rates of fire and higher capacity in curved magazines. Although the overall reduced propellant volume makes the round somewhat weaker than the standard loading, it also reduces recoil, making it popular with civilians, police and other users who lack the powered armour required to handle full strength GAR. The Taldis A420 'Boxer' banks on the features of GAR T2, offering an affordable and controllable rapid-fire carbine with lightwieght, high-capacity magazines.
The Salier MGA is a heavy-duty electrically-operated multi-barrel firearm that spews out absurd amounts of 14mm UDEI class ammunition to provide significant fire suppression, and is often used as a crew-served weapon on a variety of the AIA's vehicles. Upscaled versions of the weapon are mounted on fighter craft as well.

The upwards recoil is managed much like a gyroscope by the barrels themselves which serve to counteract the forces from the number of rounds being thrown downrange. The recoil is made manageable because of the gyroscope effect and the high fire rate applying a constant force as opposed to a sporadic percussive punch which may be found with firearms that fire more slowly. The sustainability of the weapon is augmented by the large 300 round magazine that is typically machine-loaded prior to deployments, but smaller motorized speedloaders built by Salier are also requisitioned when this weapon is used.

Typically, the weapon is employed by heavy AIA troops (due to weight) and can accept a variety of attachments to augment the role it is being used for, whether fire suppression in a defensive position or an offensive assault on a hardened bunker, the MGA offers adaptability where older multi-barrel firearms wouldn't.
As part of the operation in the border-worlds Nareem IV star system, an Antarean reconnaissance team discovered a series of massive energy spikes while surveying the planets. Upon further investigation into these energy spikes, they found that there were numerous USN launch stations on Tannhauser's E-5 sector, previously masked by a centuries-old lightning storm not far away in the equatorial belt. The launch stations were acting as a forward strategic rally point for rearming, refitting, and repairing various smaller USN vessels, feeding the United League war effort and ensuring their longevity in the area.

The purpose of the platforms, given that there was no suitable worlds to land on in the star system, was to provide a way to safely repair and relaunch vessels that had been damaged in skirmishes and patrols; however, drydocks in space, while more easily constructed are quite a bit more easily detected than the magnetic launch systems masked by nearby electrical storms. The construction consists of 3 pillars that act as convection generators, with a stable base submerged in the atmosphere, perched on the rocky surface of the planet itself, a central platform held in place by massive structural support beams. A coolant pump that exchanges the heat produced by the launch system itself aids in continued operation.
Small craft designed for aerial flight are housed within the structure's hangar, and pump regulators also maintain the pressure that keeps the interior blast doors shut via a hydraulic mechanism. The CIR projectile, or coil-induced round, is a massive tungsten-core fin-stabilized projectile that is 12.5x75mm designed exclusively for use with the GU34 gauss rifle. Lower-quality knockoff rounds have been made by pirates and private enthusiasts alike but are still unable to fully replicate the quality of the Falken CIR5-12.5mm round produced by Falken itself or Falken's reputable licensees. Sometimes the fins on these knockoff rounds won't deploy, or will not correctly feed into the coil and shred the internals of the weapon, and may incur severe injury or even death to the operator.

As a disclaimer, Falken states that it does not officially support unlicensed rounds or tools for use with the Falken GU34 and states that any unlicensed rounds may cause injury or worse. Unlicensed rounds also void the warranty.
The barrel uses perfectly-timed magnetic forces to accelerate the round over the length of the barrel to a blistering 600 meters per second, almost twice the speed of sound as it leaves the barrel.

The barrel uses perfectly-timed magnetic forces to accelerate the round over the length of the barrel to a blistering 900 meters per second, more than twice the speed of sound as it leaves the barrel.

The housing for the capacitors gets extremely hot with repeated firing and the weapon has external heatsinks on both sides of the capacitor's housing. For operator safety, it is recommended to hold the weapon by the designated location forward of the magazine which also serves as a lever to lock the magazine in place.

The less-lethal civilian version does not feature the two-round burst select-fire option and is generally expensive to operate, given the proprietary rounds, tools, and components exclusively manufactured by Falken; however, this doesn't serve to stop the enthusiast marksman from procuring and hoarding parts.
Assisted Longrange Rifle

This electromagnetic rifle fires the fearsome 12mm AV/AM class ammunition or "screwtip" round which can go through inches thick CCF. Officially named the 9R or "Niner", but more commonly the "Longblade". The Longblade has only six shots per magazine but does significantly more damage per shot than other infantry-issued long range rifles. The gun spools the round inside with an electromagnetic motor to create stabilizing forces for the round to ensure a very small MOA (minute of angle) and flat trajectory to impart maximum force after being launched by the magnetic coils. The ammunition is very limited, given the complexity of the round's design but offers significant benefits over the conventional anti-materiel round.

The Falken Feuer Karabiner Radom (FKR) is a rather conservative weapon in design when compared to Falken's other products, using a straight stick magazine, seemingly conventional firing mechanisms and a rather unassuming appearance, it is by all means, a pretty ordinary carbine, except for its 4-round burst mechanism.

It uses a rotating blowback recoil system and a magnetic cam mechanism to achieve a 4-round burst. It will fire all 4 rounds with one trigger pull, and then it resets the cam after each burst so releasing the trigger early is a non-issue if one wants to maintain maximum rate of fire. The standard short barrel allows for the weapon to operate in close quarters but it is generally advised to use a marksman barrel or heavy barrel at greater distances.

It is a common weapon employed by both factions and private military corporations, and was one of Falken's earliest weapons. Prior to the Second Antarean War, Falken was manufacturing maglev trains and railways. Nikolai Radom, an employee of Falken, was the designer of the weapon and knew only a little about firearms prior to designing it. He went on to perform R&D on the Falken RID after the Second Antarean War broke out.

The FKR has, over time, thanks to its acronym, received a dubious nickname by those that use it and those that have faced it.

The DK-31 is a breakthrough for the ULA, after a long search for an advanced infantry weapon that could rival the AIA's fearsome EVR heavy rifle.

Where the driving force for the AIA has been the advancement of magnetic delivery of energy projectiles, the research team at Corps-Miyaki had considerably more success in another avenue; laser suspended plasma.

The DK-31 is essentially a laser weapon that channels plasma energy along the laser beam by ionizing a path, "injecting" it into the first substantial matter it meets. The rear of the weapon houses a power cell and a high-power short-burst fluoride laser which is focused through the breech into the chamber and down the barrel.

The specially developed 0.1mm GLSP class ammunition provides the plasmatic material. when a round is chambered and fired, the shell detonates a small plasma packet which is released into the barrel where it is accelerated by the laser towards lightspeed. whilst suspended in the beam, the plasma remains inert, but as soon as it reaches a point where the beam is broken, the plasmatic matter returns to a highly volatile state, releasing massive amounts of thermal and kinetic energy.

The benefit of this technique is a rapid fire, pinpoint beam weapon which is highly effective at anti-infantry work.

The weapon can preload 5 GLSP rounds to increase the density of the plasma, thereby acting as a longer-range, more powerful designated marksman weapon with anti-vehicular applications.

The drawbacks include a huge amount of heat generation, the DK-31's thermal sensors trip after approximately five seconds of continuous firing, and if it is run too hot for too long, the danger of the magazine becoming fractured increases.

When the magazine fractures (as has all too often been recorded), the plasma packets, designed to be kept in a vacuum within the magazine, implode and release their charge in a spectacular chain reaction vaporizing the weapon, it's owner and up to several cubic meters of the surrounding environment. As a result, almost none of the troops issued with this weapon wear it with the regulation strap and webbing clip.

In addition to the dangers, this cutting edge rifle is profoundly expensive to manufacture and operate; however, when used properly it has been extremely successful in special operations.

In addition to the dangers this cutting edge rifle is profoundly expensive to manufacture and operate, however when used properly it has been extremely successful in spec ops.
Normally comes prepackeged in the s77 sixteen-shot revolving magazine for easy reload. The magazine itself has the ammunition superposed in the container and are electrically fired. The spent magazines are then returned to the manufacturer for reuse and recycling. Made and rearmed by the Sikfrit coorporation. The RD Dispersion-Class Ammunition containers have an excellent spread of facilities where magazines can be rearmed for the AIA, for a price of course.

The Sigurn-Fost C30i is one of the company's first ventures into man-portable anti-tank systems, given that there was a market opportunity for new contracts for private militaries and the ULA/AIA market. When compared to the MLI or the RID, the C30i is quite heavy, being a 30mm anti-tank weapon. For portability, the barrel retracts nearly completely into the weapon itself. Despite its weight, it is a very sought-after weapons platform, being potent, durable, and capable of jobs the other two competitors aren't. The magazine is gravity-fed, and the ejection port is spring-operated. When the barrel slides back and pushes the recoil buffer system, the spent case is ejected out the back flap. The massive muzzle brake is 3-stage to help alleviate some of the recoil and muzzle climb generated by the 30mm SATR. The weapon also has recoil-operated flash shields that will protect the user from any backblast. It uses smart gel in its recoil padding and has an electronic trigger on the left-hand foregrip.

While it acts like your typical 30mm cannon (shoulder-mounted is hardly typical), its round is what sets it apart from the C90 and other large caliber weapons -- the 30 millimeter Smart Anti Tank Round, which has an IFF-based proximity fuse. The round has a 1.4 KHz sensor that runs a check in a 2 meter radius around the projectile. When the projectile detects an enemy IFF with the sensor, it will detonate, sending shrapnel at extremely high velocities which easily perforate airframes and light armor. This allows the weapon to be fired over cover and detonate on hidden enemy vehicles. The reason the 30mm SATR round is used instead of a shaped charge is that the concussive energy from the round is distributed more evenly in an area, as well as the shrapnel. The IFF chip in the weapon can be tuned to pre-program each round once they have been loaded into the weapon.

This weapon shines against fast-moving light armored vehicles and mechanized infantry suits, and works quite well as an air deterrent.

The C30i also has a mech-mounted variant named the C30v, which serves as a sustained air deterrent or anti-vehicle alternative.

Mostly used by the more specialized USN forces, this rough-and-tumble submachine gun is more versatile than its appearance suggests. Its short length lends to its use in corridor fights, where space to maneuver is at an all-time premium. While it does not fire as fast as the Salier P4, it makes up for it with greater controllability and a bigger punch. It uses the short range RS class ammunition. It comes standard with a threaded barrel and can accept a variety of attachments. Options include a flashlight attachment and a folding stub stock.
The TS20 is a semi-automatic designated marksman rifle that fires the GAR AP round. It saves weight by using an electrical firing system and simplifies the operating mechanisms by using GAR caseless ammunition. Its barrel is a lightweight reinforced titanium alloy with PTFE-based coating to reduce the need for cleaning regularly. It can accept a wide variety of optics and attachments, allowing it to fit any mission type the operator needs.

The ULA had posted a contract to fulfill and while the DK11 could support multiple roles, the DK11C precision rifle couldn't achieve the accuracy and minute of angle (MOA) that was deemed necessary to fill the requirements for the ULA's designated marksman role. Aeger stepped in and brought in a lightweight platform with finely tuned harmonics and a very low taper on the barrel, but saved weight by using more advanced materials and more polymers in the frame. The muzzle brake and recoil mechanism serve to improve accuracy with successive shots.
The most common magazine size will accept 8 rounds of the GAR AP ammunition.
The AIA's hovertank, the Dhaka, is able to glide over low obstacles whereas the ULA's main battle tank cannot.
The Dhaka uses a lighter weight chassis when compared to the Partisan, using a titanium alloy with ceramic composites inlaid in an aluminum frame, with reinforced depleted uranium layers at the front. Its primary drive method is the array of vectored hover coils underneath the vehicle, which can actuate to generate repulsion and generate momentum. The Dhaka's power is generated by a TCI Systems industrial 2t generator.

The Dhaka's main armament is a Tir-Boda 80mm Twin Plasma Cannon, capable of delivering a volatile payload that melts infantry combatants and armored vehicles alike. Secondary armaments are an optional MGA coaxial machine gun and a computerized turret mount. It is the apex predator on the field when left unchallenged.

Operators are instructed when fighting the Partisan to use tall cover intelligently between reloads. The Dhaka boasts more firepower but the partisan has more armour. Strafing is one of the key advantages the Dhaka has over the Partisan.
Hovertank, slightly faster and able to glide over low obstacles. The countermeasure of the Dhaka is an EMP blast from overloading the hover coils. Disables vehicles for a short period (including the Dhaka itself) and screws up any locked-on missiles in range. this is also useful against any other EMP source, if you've gotten EMP'ed just activate the countermeasure to neutralize the EMP. remember that EMP disables all heavy infantry weapons and can be used against them.

In a Dhaka vs. Partisan match make sure you hide long enough to reload you main cannons, the Dhaka has more firepower but the partisan has more armour. you can hide from the other tank because you are slightly faster. you can also surprise the other tank by using the EMP blast to disable it for a short period of time.
The Silverback light-armored vehicle functions as a rough-and-tumble means of getting about quickly, with a computerized remote turret mount, minelayer, and all-wheel drive train, the Silverback is the AIA's mode of choice for getting around. The driver and passenger seat are highly exposed to enemy fire, so drivers are instructed to maneuver to minimize exposure.

Meet the Basta - the AIA's hovering armoured personnel carrier - faster than its ULA counterpart though not quite as sturdy. Hover vehicles cannot climb steep inclines due to the facing of the anti-grav (AG) panels, but can float easily over low obstacles. The vehicle generates momentum by vectoring the AG panels underneath it. The plasma autocannon can melt armored vehicles easily, and still functions quite well against infantry combatants. It comes with a computerized turret mount that will engage enemy combatants as well.

The Basta almost always outperforms the Turtle in maneuverability, but its reduced armor (a sacrifice necessary for the lift needed to move) puts it in a detrimental situation if it is engaged by superior numbers. It uses an expensive, lightweight, titanium alloy shell interwoven with ceramic composites and aluminum structure to support it. Despite using hover technology, the Basta still uses hydrocarbon fuels to operate with a powerful twin diesel generator.

Operators are instructed to use cover to their advantage to the best of their ability to avoid significant damage to the AG panels in the chassis, which would render the vehicle inoperable or irreparably damage it to the point it cannot be recovered.

The Dhaka is the Basta's larger cousin.

Slower but more maneuverable than the ULA counterpart, it has four plasma cannons to punish the enemy with. Skilled Locust pilots are feared worlds over, and even though there are fewer Locust pilots in total, there are more aces that pilot them. As opposed to the Sturm, the Locust does not come with a gunner seat and instead uses a computerized FCS (Fire Control System) to augment the pilot's abilities. AIA Locust pilots are specially trained and augmented to resist the high G's associated with the Locust's maneuvers; they also lay on their stomach inside the craft to spread out the forces associated with these maneuvers.

The Locust has two flight modes that drastically change how the aircraft operates, a hover mode and a flight mode. The entire assembly underneath the aircraft and the thrust nozzles rotate downwards when in hover mode, giving it the signature T-shaped profile. This is generally better suited to firing on ground targets with rockets or the plasma cannons, even though the damage is less concentrated on a single point. Operators are advised not to do daring maneuvers while in this mode, lest the craft crash into structures or trees, forcing the pilot to bail. The flight mode tucks the assembly in and redirects the nozzles, which drastically alters the Locust's visual profile, making it better suited to dogfighting the Sturm or escaping fire and flying low.

Operators are advised to look for the red targeting laser given off by the RID employed by ULA troops. Flight manual suggests prioritizing the greatest infantry threats first with cannons or bomblets. If encountering multiple RID-wielding opponents, it is suggested to find a more suitable attack angle to minimize exposure and danger.
The Sturm is the ULA's gunship utilized across many worlds and planet-side conflicts and border skirmishes. Its profile is well-known and feared. The Sturm has a smaller forward profile than its counterpart, the Locust, and is augmented with a tail gun that can either be outfitted with an AGL or a RED4 rocket launcher, more often than not operated by a computerized gunner, though the craft is capable of carrying both a pilot and a gunner.
The craft uses larger and heavier engines that produce more thrust than the Locust and it is advised to use that to its advantage when being tailed by AIA pilots. The hover mode isn't as reliable as the Locust's hover mode but can be used to focus down single targets before disengaging.

The two main guns are gimballed 30mm Sigurn-Fost HEAP automatic cannons, and the Sturm can accommodate various hardpoints. Its canopy is opaque and heavily armored, utilizing an external optics array to produce a digital version of the pilot's surroundings, projected directly into the helmet to allow for maximum visibility.
The Gheist is the AIA's mechanized infantry suit, designed to support infantry where larger vehicles cannot. It can mount a wide variety of weapons on its two arm-mounted hardpoints and comes with an optional mine launcher. The Gheist uses a neurological interface to augment movement whereas the Velius uses more analog control systems and interfaces. The Gheist uses artificial muscle fibers to actuate, contrary to the Velius' hydraulics and motor systems, but is largely the same as the ULA counterpart in terms of effectiveness and role.
